Director, R&D Project Management

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative Program Management Leader to join our team. This position will offer the opportunity to lead a portfolio of projects that span from discovery to clinical development. The right person will play an important role in the success of our R&D projects, and therefore of the company. This is very attractive opportunity for a biotech or pharmaceutical industry leader who enjoys a high-energy environment and a highly visible role that offers a chance to make significant contributions in METiS’ pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective and efficient project management for drug discovery and development R&D projects

  • Work with the team to develop project strategy, plan, timeline and budget

  • Perform risks analyses, develop mitigation plans, contingencies, new opportunities, and identify critical path activities

  • Publish timely and detailed meeting minutes from project meetings inclusive of associated timelines and pending action items

  • Ensure execution of all cross-functional project activities

  • Lead cross functional project teams, including internal members, external consultants, and third party CROs, to drive research and development activities

  • Drive and review project and budget documentations for executive meetings

  • Work closely with IP team to develop project related IP strategy and portfolio

  • Maintain Shared File System and other databases with project status and key project information 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a science or engineering discipline

  • 8+ years of industry experience in the pharmaceuticals industry

  • 6+ years of project management/leadership experience leading drug development projects

  • Sound technical aptitude and proven ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies with superior computer usage skills

  • Strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple activities and resources while maintaining a focus on quality

  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in RNA or protein drug development a plus;

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be advantageous, although not imperative.
